It is Saturday morning, March 10th. I continue to gradually improve and find each week a little better than the week before. Planning activity levels, avoiding germs, strengthening exercises, controlling diet, and limiting stress producers are all critical factors in my continuing recovery. Of course, the most important of all is the work of the Great Physician throughout the process. It is essential to begin each day by filling your mind with the encouragement and inspiration found by reading God's Word. It is God's voice given directly to our mind and heart each day. Then continuing God consciousness throughout the day brings the Lord into our thoughts, attitudes, motivations, and actions. He provides the ultimate attitude adjustment by applying Scripture to our circumstances. God knows exactly what we need and will provide it if we allow Him to do it. His continuing strengthening and encouragement are available throughout the entire day regardless of what we face. He is our ever-present help in time of trouble. Prayer is our personal hotline to Heaven. Through it we can count and share our blessings with the Lord, share our needs, pour out our feelings and concerns, and seek His presence and help as well as intercede for others and their needs. Counting and sharing our many blessings reframes our problems and praying for others helps us refocus away from them. What a powerful combination, God's Word allowing God to speak to us and prayer allowing us to speak to Him. Please continue to pray for the following things: that I will be cancer free, that I will have no further complications, that my shingles will be completely healed, and that I will regain my strength and stamina. Thank you for praying for me and my needs.
Tomorrow's Sermon is Part 5 of the series, Peter's Prescription for Getting Along with Others. It will be a very practical presentation on not returning evil for evil. Lord willing, I'll see you then.
